- Profore 4-layer bandaging system is used for the management of venous leg ulcers and associated conditions, pads bony prominences and the wound contact layer absorbs exudate. Compression bandaging is indicated for the management of leg ulcers caused by venous hypertension, while venous leg ulcers make up the majority of the ulcers of the leg, ulcers can also be caused by blockage of the arteries supplying blood to the lower leg and may also be caused by malignancy, rheumatoid arthritis and other medical conditions. Compression bandaging should be recommended and supervised by a trained/licensed healthcare provider. Your physician or licensed healthcare provider can determine if your leg ulcers are caused by blood flow problems in the veins. If you are not certain that your leg ulcers are Venous leg ulcers, do not apply the profore system.
