CarraSmart Film has the same properties as CarraFilm, it is an adhesive semipermeable membrane dressing,that consist of a thin, transparent film coated with non-sensitizing adhesive. The dressing is sterile and acts an impervious barrier to moisture and bacteria, while remaining permeable to moisture vapor an oxygen. But, also has the unique ability to allow selective evaporation of drainage through the film; thus it may be used as a primary or secondary dressing over wounds with higher exudate levels. This evaporation is called high moisture vapor transfer (NVTR).
